I grew up thinking that the only options for a “real career” are the conventional roles such as doctor, lawyer, computer engineer, etc.
I thought “the path” is somewhat set in stone. You go to university, get good grades, maybe pursue higher education, and then apply for jobs in that field.
However, this conventional path didn’t make me happy. I used to half-ass my assignments, projects. I even half-assed the various jobs I had over the years. I knew this wasn’t the path I wanted to take, but it took me a while to find the answer I wanted: my own business in helping others to fulfil their fitness and health goals.
Entrepreneurship has been everything BUT easy. The path isn’t clear. I had important people in my life doubt me and tease me. Heck, I doubted me. However, deep in my bones, I knew this is what makes ME happy and I persevered on my own path.
The excitement I feel from my work makes me jump out of bed every morning! I’m a strong believer that if there’s something in your life that makes you feel giddy inside and you can’t stop thinking about it, then that’s what you’re meant to do.
There’s SO much room in this world for everyone to be doing the things they love. ♥️ I’ve found that we’re all just so much happier when we do things that light us up!
As Steve Jobs said: “You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
Have you ever thought about what your life would be like if you could wake up every single day doing what you love? How would things be different? If you could make your passion into your career, would you jump at that chance, no matter the difficulty? 😄
